The VRHS Football Booster Club is in need of volunteers for the 2022 Red vs Black Spring Game and Community Event. It takes all of Ranger Nation to make this evening a success and what better way to get involved in the VRHS Football program than helping?

Things seem to be moving at hyper speed as we get closer to the end of the school year. We are set and ready for another full week to get after it. We will continue a similar structure of practice times this week with one change. We have moved the Wednesday practice from the morning to the afternoon because of our juniors taking the US History EOC Exam in the morning. Also, any 9th graders taking the Algebra I EOC Exam on Tuesday will not be attending practice in the morning because of this Algebra I EOC Exam. The plan is to again scrimmage the 9th graders in 1st block athletics on Thursday to help maximize repetitions for our younger players. All 2nd block athletics athletes will scrimmage after school on Thursday. Our Spring Football Fundraiser will be after school on Tuesday. Last week we sent home a football supporter contact sheet with each player to complete. We are asking the players to list the contact information for their biggest supporters i.e. “parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, business associates and neighbors.” The coaches will collect these on Monday 5/9. Our fundraiser kickoff event will be after school on Tuesday, (5/10) starting at 4:30 pm in the cafeteria and will be a player only event. *Please note: This Friday our Sports Medicine Team will be offering on campus sports physicals for $20. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Every athlete will need a yearly physical to participate in summer strength and conditioning camp and the fall football season. Spring Football Fundraiser Contact Sheet

Ranger Nation,

Vista Ridge is offering sports physicals here on campus Friday May 13th from 8am to 4:00pm. Athletes and families interested in taking advantage of this will be able to utilize their athletic period for this.

This year we are utilizing the etix software to avoid having to handle money. With that being said, please advise your parents to use this link to purchase an athletic physical ticket for their athlete. Please note that the purchase window will only be open on Thursday May 12 from 8am to 8pm and that the athlete must show up on Friday with the ticket.

Next, every athlete that is getting a physical done with us needs to bring the 2022-2023 pink physical form with the medical history completed (anything that they say “yes” to must have an explanation). This must be signed by both themselves and a parent. We will not let them see the doctor on Friday unless they have this completed. They can get the pink physical form from the training room.

This is a convenient low affordable physical that will be good for a calendar year. I have attached a flyer with details about this opportunity. Please contact the athletic trainers at 512-570-1846 should you have any questions.

VRHS Spring 2022 Physicals Flyer

It was sure fun to have a full week of Spring Football training last week. We got better in a lot of areas and have installed many things offensively, defensively, and special teams wise. We are looking to clean up some areas this week and continue to install. It is nice to watch the guys compete in all phases. We will continue the same structure of practice times this week. The only differences are that we will not have the 9th graders attend practice Tuesday morning because of the Biology EOC Exam. Also, we will scrimmage the 9th graders in 1st block athletics during their athletic period on Thursday to help maximize repetitions for our younger players. All 2nd block athletic athletes will scrimmage after school on Thursday. This week we will also begin the prep work for our spring football fundraiser. This spring we are partnering with Group Fund to help with this. We will be sending home a football supporter contact sheet home with each player. We are asking the players to gather contact information for their biggest supporters i.e. “parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, business associates and neighbors.” The players will be given until Monday 5/9 to complete and turn in their form to their position coach. What a great week last week! There are lots of great things going on at the Ridge. We continue to see gains in our agility and strength and conditioning training and are loving being able to add more football skills work to the athletic period. In addition, it was fun watching so many of our athletes compete in track & field and baseball this week.
