Rangers,
Thank you to everyone that came out and supported our Rangers on every level this past week against Bowie. It was great to see all our youth football players that attended Youth Football Night at Gupton Stadium. We were honored to have many of our Principals attend our game on Friday as well.
We have a short work week this week with games starting on Wednesday. Please notice a game time change for 9th Black Team to start at 5:30pm instead of 5pm @ Bible Stadium. Leander also notified us that they only have four teams total. As a result we have picked up a JV Black game against Dripping Spring at 5pm @ Ranger Stadium.
As you know, our district has moved our COVID status to Red. Williamson County and Cities Health District also sent the district the linked letter. The district has chosen not to shut down, but we are needing to make some adjustments for how we do things in football. Please remember that our main goal is to play games and stay in school.
We are going to highly encourage our athletes to start wearing a mask indoors when they are not actively working out. If they are in the locker room, study hall, or cafeteria we are going to encourage them to wear a mask. Wearing a mask in class as well could help us stay as healthy as possible. All families do have the choice to opt out and if your family decides on this course of action please work to fill out the opt out form with campus administration.
Please remember our goal is to keep playing games and try to keep everyone in school and on campus. I understand this is a family decision and we will support your decision either way.
We are also asking that each athlete bring their own water container each day to practice much like they did in 2020. We will have water sources to refill those containers should they require a refill.
Have a great week. Go Rangers!
Coach Scott
