Dear Ranger Athletics Family,
On Monday evening, Rodney Vincent was named the athletic director/head football coach at Shallowater HS, a suburb of Lubbock. We are ever thankful for Coach Vincent’s incredible leadership, tireless commitment to our athletes, and his heartfelt relational capacity. For the past twelve years, Rodney has led Ranger football and supported all VRHS athletic programs with integrity, passion, distinction, and excellence. Coach Vincent guided Ranger football and all Ranger athletics through numerous successful seasons, annual postseason appearances, many notable firsts for Ranger athletics, and helped build a tradition of excellence. We are extremely grateful for the Vincent family’s significant contributions to Ranger Nation and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Coach Vincent’s last official day at VRHS will be Monday, June 21st.
The head football coach opening was posted today, Tuesday, June 15, by LISD. The search for our new head football coach/athletic coordinator to lead VRHS athletics is our top priority. Hiring someone who will create a “Best for the World” environment for our student-athletes, coaches, and families is of paramount importance. Vista Ridge HS is blessed with the world’s greatest students/families, and LISD athletic leadership and myself will work together to secure a coach who will champion our shared vision and values. Whenever there is transition with a head football coach/athletic coordinator, it understandably creates uncertainty. We will diligently work to hire the right person to lead Ranger athletics and Ranger football. Thank you for your patience throughout this process and for your continued support of VRHS athletics.
Go Rangers!
