Ranger Nation Update

Dear Ranger Nation,

For twelve years, it has been my honor and privilege to work here at Vista Ridge alongside one of the best head coaches and coaching staffs in the state of Texas.  Brick by brick, our goal each year was to equip our young men and women for a future of excellence – to be the best citizens, the best spouses, the best parents, and the best employees. Family, character, toughness, relentless effort, and payday/finish have been our core values and it is these values that guide each and every thing that we do as a Ranger staff.  These core values will continue to guide us as we look to the future.  I am humbled to lead the Vista Ridge Ranger football team as head coach, and I am excited for the upcoming season.

I’d like to share a little bit about myself with you.  I had the honor of playing high school football at Judson High School under legendary Coach DW Rutledge where we won 2 state championships.  I had the opportunity to be a multisport athlete during my time there.  My football career continued at Sam Houston State University where I received a great education and was blessed to meet my wife, Sherlyn.  We married and settled into San Antonio, where I worked for 2 years as a financial advisor.  Thankfully, God put the tug on my heart to go back into the world of athletics – a world where you work with a team and learn how to fight through adversity together.  We have been blessed with 3 daughters.  Chesni will be a Junior at VRHS this year and is a multi-sport athlete who loves being a Ranger.  Our middle daughter, Kayla, will be going into 8th grade and is excited for her turn to be a Ranger in a year.  Our daughter, Samantha, passed away in 2011.  In her memory we have had the opportunity to encourage other families of medically fragile children through sMiles 4 Sammy.  We live out in the country with our 2 dogs, 2 hermit crabs and our chickens.  We love to travel to Colorado, enjoy anything outdoors, love watching all sports, and are actively plugged into our church family.

Our entire football coaching staff is excited to work together and to continue to lay the bricks that keep our Ranger family strong and maintain the highest level of integrity that Vista Ridge athletes have become known for.  Energetic and passionate work ethic will be our calling card and the cornerstone of Ranger football.

We are ALL IN.
Go Rangers!

Sincerely,

Coach Chad Scott
