Football Parents of the Class of 2021

Dear Football Parents of the Class of 2021,

I would like to thank each and every one of you for the opportunity to coach your son. I am very aware of the sacrifices that each of you made in order that he could be a part of our football family. While I realize that at times it can be difficult to see all of the benefits, I can tell you that as he moves on through life and into manhood, he will use many of the experiences he has had in football. I know this, because I went through it as a player and I see it year after year as a head coach.

Each senior class is different, yet very special to me. I have missed them every day since we came back to school in January. After reflecting on the highs and lows of our season, I keep coming back to what an incredible journey this group of seniors have had to overcome. Coaching this great group of young men through a pandemic made me realize and appreciate how special the game of football really is and how much I enjoy the opportunity to coach them. There were many people that believed that we may get to play 3 games at best, but because of the type of young men they are, we were able to have a football season. The way they practiced and played through all the adverse situations that we were presented was commendable. There may never be another Ranger Football team that understands and appreciates the game of football and our Ranger Family quite like this group of young men. I have enjoyed getting to know these young men over the past 4 seasons. This senior class did so much for our football program, the community, and Vista Ridge High School. It is truly amazing how they have raised the standard and changed the culture not only in football but in our school. They continued to fight and play hard all the way to the end. My hope is that they take that fight into the next chapter of their life.

I can’t tell you enough how proud I am of them. Every year I choose the following quote by General Eisenhower for this letter because it reminds us all of the life lessons your son has learned from this special game. I would like to thank you again for all your support for these young men. Our booster club and district are monitoring the new protocols and regulations to see when the best time will be to recognize your son at the Ranger Football Banquet.

Thank you. Go Rangers!

Sincerely,
Coach Vincent

” I consider it deeply significant that in all my commands during three major conflicts, I have never had to relieve an officer from duty under combat fire who had competed in high school football. I believe that football, perhaps more than any other sport, tends to instill in men the feeling that victory comes through hard work, team play, self-confidence and an enthusiasm that amounts to dedication.”

-General Dwight D. Eisenhower

Special breeds wear special clothes. Trained to wear crowns at a young age. The fields will change but primary strategy will remain the same. Invest in yourself and prepare for everything. It is competition and it is still played to win. You can take us with you, so they know you are always coming with relentless effort… The Ranger Way! ~ Class of Ranger Family
