Football Parent Letter and Weekly Agenda – Week 33

Rangers,

We really missed seeing our players this past week at SWSC, and as of right now we are not allowed to have camp this next week. As most of you have heard by now the UIL released some dates for our football program. This was exciting news. The UIL announced that we could start football workouts on September 7th. Between now and then we hope to get some SWSC and skills training back. While we are waiting to hear a release date and time for SWSC from Travis County, LISD, etc. we will continue to
send workouts to our players to do at home. These workouts are critical during this time. Please encourage them to spend quality time on these workouts. We can control our nutrition, workouts, and sleep patterns during this time. Also, this is a great time for our players and parents to take care of all paperwork. If you received an email about Impact Testing, please have your player complete this online. Several weeks ago, we
attached the paperwork link that needs to be completed. I have attached it again in this letter. Even if their physical is good, everyone still must fill out the online paperwork. Our trainers and coaches will start checking online paperwork over the next 2 weeks.

With the information we received from the UIL we will be working on our football schedule and important dates this week. We will get this information out to everyone as soon as possible. Please be patient as we must navigate restrictions by multiple governing bodies. Stay encouraged. Encourage each other. We will get through this.

Stay safe. Have a great week. Go Rangers!

LISD LETTER

Parents/Guardians/Athletes,

Leander ISD Athletics would like to pass along an important update from the UIL regarding Preparticipation Physical Exams (Athletic Physicals) for the upcoming 2020-21 School Year.

Leander ISD policy normally requires an annual athletic physical prior to an athlete participating in any athletic practice/game with their respective school. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the UIL is allowing any 2019-20 Athletic Physical to be valid for the 2020-21 School Year. Leander ISD recommends that each athlete complete an athletic physical annually but will allow the 2019-20 Athletic Physical to be valid for the 2020-21 school year per the UIL Legislative Council recommendations.

The requirement for the 2020-21 school year is that all parents & student athletes complete the Medical History Questionnaire that can be found on the Preparticipation Physical Exam form and can also be found as a part of the Rank One online forms that are also required to be completed. Once all online forms are complete, athletes will be allowed to practice and compete for the 2020-21 school year.

Under these new guidelines, an athlete would not need to see a physician for a full exam unless they meet the following criteria. Athletes meeting the criteria below will need a full physical exam by a physician of the family’s choice.

ATHLETES REQUIRED TO HAVE A PHYSICAL EXAM BY A PHYSICIAN to be eligible to participate in practices/games:

If an athlete does not meet above criteria, then they may use the 2019-20 Physical Exam as a valid 2020-21 physical and practice/compete as long as they have the following:

ATHLETES THAT DO NOT NEED A PHYSICIAN EXAM:

If you have any questions, please reach out to the high school athletic trainer. Thank you.
